After six years delivering what’s NEW and NEXT in the heart of the capital, the iconic W London – Leicester Square is excited to announce a complete redesign of its public area bar and lounge spaces: W Lounge, Library and Room 913. Once complete, the new W Lounge will offer a bold new design and unique programming to Londoners and international jetsetters alike.
The award-winning in-house design team at W Hotels has partnered with Amsterdam-based design studio, Concrete, to reimagine the W Lounge.
Designed to reflect the 24/7 energy of both the W brand and the British capital, the new bar will feature subtle, abstract references to London’s fashion, music and design influences and will add layers to the original hotel design inspired by the dual personality of the British soul.
Through 7 different spaces within the space, but also boundary-breaking food and beverage concepts and an intense music and events programming, the new bar will allow each and every customer to find themselves, be themselves…and abandon themselves.
Work will begin on 2nd July 2017 and is expected to be completed by mid-November 2017.
W Lounge, Room 913 and the Screening Room will close for the duration of the works but the Library will remain open during the months of July through to September, providing visitors and hotel guests with a space to enjoy signature cocktails and bar snacks, the Anarch’Tea, W London’s take on the afternoon tea, and evening DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Library will close from the 3rd of October until completion of the renovation, and during this time a pop-up bar will be available to in-house guests (and visitors on a guest-list basis) in the hotel’s spectacular Extreme-WOW suite.
With this transformation, W London will continue to disrupt and push the boundaries of the London hospitality scene. Since opening in 2011, the hotel has regularly hosted fashion and music showcases, premiere parties, product launches and high profile guests and has made a bold impression on both locals and international travellers alike.
